South Manchester, The Spring

Just moved house up to Rusholme or Moss Side depending on who you ask. Really liking living round here.

These are various pictures from a couple of days when the weather was good. Some 200 ISO Fujifilm stock. April has been hands down the only decent month this year in terms of Sun. Hopefully August will bring the summer we've been waiting for.

Not taken many pictures recently. Slowly working through a roll of colour slide film but I've got five packs of that 400 TMax on order to take away to Barcelona in four week's time. I thought about going with colour film as everyone says that Barca is a dead vibrant city, but I think black and white can capture the atmosphere of heat better sometimes (and I'm hoping it'll be damn hot). Plus I can develop them myself, and $ is tight at the moment, so it helps that I won't have to pay twice to get each photo.

Also I think I might sack off Blogger for Tumblr because it's seems a lot easier to make a blog that isn't ass-ugly over there.

A Weekend In The Lakes

The weekend just gone worked out to be a free one, so we went to the Lake District. These are taken in and around the Grizedale Forest. It's a working forest, and a sculpture park. We saw a few of the pieces, but none of those photos really came out. Some of these are taken with a roll of Kodak 400 TMax that my brother bought me, rather than the Ilford HP5 I had been using before that. I'll probably get some more.

The next couple of rolls I shoot will be colour though I think. And they will definitely be used in the city. I've had enough of the English countryside to last me a while.

Here is some awful music, for Duncan. It's ironic, because there wasn't any.

October in Manchester

Really lazy developing here...

Pictures taken on Cambridge Street, in the Seven Oaks in Chinatown, and along the Mersey. I think Jonny took the first picture here. The rest are mine.

I have a couple of other old films to develop and then I might get on to something new.

New York, Part Four

Some digital compact pictures from America this Summer. The last two are in Connecticut, not New York.

A Day In The Park

It decided to be summer in the middle of October, so we went to Fletcher Moss for the day.

I developed these negatives myself.  Most of the imperfections are from the spiral loading going horribly wrong.  They were a bit under-developed too, and I need a better wetting agent, but I think they came out alright for a first try.  They're are also the first exposures I've developed that were taken with the Pentax MX that I got for my birthday.  It's fully manual which is..interesting?  So, basically none of the variables were held constant.  Screw the scientific method, I guess.

And this is what we listened to in the park...

Gibraltar Farm

We went on a camping trip near Morecambe Bay.  October is kind of pushing it so that'll probably be the last one of the year.
